The Luke Azzopardi atelier exists outside of the parameters of a fashion industry which is extremely mechanical and output oriented. The director has spent the last couple of years studying why couture studios, which specialise in the creation of immaculately finished, beautifully designed bespoke/custom clothing, have been facing several challenges at the hands of a commercial system that mostly values high-end, branded fashion products. This, of course, does not make much sense when viewed from the perspective of a philosophy of luxury, which states that it is the bespoke product that quintessentially embodies luxury.
Luke Azzopardi's methodology of fusing together powerful visuals, academic research and artisanal design is what distinguishes his work as Malta’s foremost fashion artist. This translates into his maison's ethos, which is that of being a self-sustainable atelier that embraces both concept-based fashion and beauty.
